Wagon Rag

from The Ego Has Landed by Phil Nice

/

about

This rag was composed as incidental music for a promotional video I was doing for my one man band project, "The Jam Wagon. " It is inspired by the Scott Joplin rags I grew up hearing at the hands of my dear father, Mr. Leonard A. Nice, born 1933 and still kicking that gong around. So something of a tribute to him.

Somewhere in the inspirational mix, another kind of wagon rolled in, pushing everything a bit westwards. As is my habit with studio production, I have used everything but the kitchen sink. The album art is a reference to this approach to production, a picture of my kitchen sink.
